This visual schedule helps children understand what to expect while they are at the hair salon. They can visually see the steps of what is coming next, and what is left to do at the haircut. Children can “finish” each step as it is completed by using the Velcro closure to hide the step and reveal a smiley face. This gives children a visual of what will occur, a “job” of keeping track of what is completed, and a feeling of accomplishment when they have completed the entire chart!
This can be used in conjunction with the social support story to understand what to expect.
